The Brains Behind the BOL: Meet Medhavi

Thinking about a career in food and drink? Curious about what a day in the Veg Pad looks like? Or want to know who’s cooking up your favourite One Pot? This is our Brains Behind the BOL series, where we introduce the superstars who bring our brand to life.

Almost 10 years old, we’re now a team of 30, and we can’t wait to introduce them to you...

Meet Medhavi

Job title: Grocery Sales Lead
Education: BA in Economics

Five words that describe your job:

Dynamic, rewarding, challenging, energising and stimulating.

What’s been one of your highlights from your time at BOL?

There’s been so many personal career highlights and commercial wins, but I’ll mention some team fun instead. We once did a team trip to Fairgame in Canary Wharf, where we all got way too competitive over a game of whac-a-mole. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much at work.

What’s something you’ve learned working at BOL?

I’ve really learnt the importance of resilience. Working somewhere like BOL makes for very frequent learning curves. The silver lining of this are all the growth opportunities that come when you're not winning the first time. You’re constantly figuring a plan B, C and D, which makes you a bit of a master of flexibility.

Advice for someone new to, or aspiring to a job in Commercial?

Act like it’s your own business. To make it work you really need to care and invest in your company like you own it. When you’re making decisions pretend it’s your money, and you’ll start prioritising the right things for the business, rather than the easiest route.

And what are you most excited for in 2025?

Definitely the growth momentum we’re starting to see, and the new opportunities we’re unlocking with our product markets. Get ready to see us in LOTS more fridges around the country, because we’re set for a very big year.

Favourite BOL recipe?

Definitely our Protein Boosting Garden Pea & Spinach Power Soup. We F45 a lot at lunchtimes as a team, and this is the go-to for a 5 minute refuel. It also tastes banging, which helps.

Who are another FMCG brand you’re loving?

The best thing about FMCG is the wealth of inspiration popping up all the time. Tony’s Chocolonely are my current top choice for a brand hero-ing their values and mission across all their touchpoints, as well as being obsessive about quality. From a product perspective, you can find me smashing a Moju shot most days, so they deserve a mention too…

See you next time?

Bring On Life,
Team BOL
