Meet Lydia
Job title: Content Marketing Manager
Education: BA in Graphic Design MA in Writing
Five words that describe your job: Creative. Collaborative. Community. Mildly chaotic.
What’s been one of your highlights from your time at BOL? Definitely expanding our relationships and collaborations with content creators. When I joined in 2020, we’d never briefed out to a creator before, and now it’s a huge part of our social strategy. It’s been such a joy connect and grow our network of creatives, and watch them bring BOL to life. We’ve worked with everyone from parkour athletes to illustrators to some of the most insanely talented chefs.
What’s something you’ve learned working at BOL? To be a sponge. I learn something from someone in the Veg Pad every single day. From finance to operations to commercial, I’ve really learnt the value absorbing information and getting involved with every area of the brand, because it always informs what I’m doing in one way or another.
Advice for someone new to, or aspiring to a job in Content Marketing? One of my biggest learnings in this job has been to stop creating content from the brand, and start creating for the consumer. Winning content needs to solve a problem, and have relevance for your community. So step one is figuring out what people need, and then giving it to them through content that is ownable and unique to your brand.
And what are you most excited for in 2025? I’ll let you know when it happens… If you know BOL, you’ll know why this is so hard to answer. We’ve got some amazing innovation, events and marketing plans lined up, but I can almost guarantee the highlight of the year will be something we haven’t even considered yet. We’re a team who relish unpredictability and spontaneity, so I I’m most excited for watching the year unfold.
Favourite BOL recipe? Currently deep in my Butternut Squash & Chilli Power Soup era, and can’t see it ending anytime soon.
Who are another FMCG brand you’re loving? That’s tough. I think Wildfarmed are very cool. It’s always great to see a challenger come in and disrupt a category, and from the product to the branding to their online presence, it’s quality.
See you next time?
Bring On Life,
Team BOL
