BOL Foods is now a Certified B Corporation
We are hugely excited to announce that we have reached a significant milestone by completing the comprehensive and rigorous process to become a Certified B Corporation. Of the many thousands of food and drinks companies in the UK, only 60 are certified as B Corps and we couldn’t be prouder to be one of those.
So what is B Corp?
To put it simply, B Corps are corporations that use business as a force for good.
Certified B Corporations reach the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. They are committed to redefining success in business and building a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
Society’s most challenging problems cannot be solved by government and non-profits alone. By harnessing the power of business, B Corps use profits and growth as a means to a greater end: positive impact for their employees, communities, and the environment. The B Corp community works toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of more high quality jobs with dignity and purpose.
Why did we want to become a B Corp?
Being a responsible business has been part of our DNA since the very start of BOL Foods and everyday is a new opportunity to do our bit for the planet and work on being the very best version of our brand and business. Becoming B Corp was the right ‘next step for us’, making a formal commitment as a business to protect both people and planet.
We first started by dropping meat, fish and dairy from all of our recipes to become 100% plant based, saving millions of liters of water, tones of CO2 emissions and thousands of square meters of farmland very year. We continuously work on our products’ packaging, trying to reduce the amount of plastic we use and replace plastic where possible with sustainable and innovative alternatives. Finally, social responsibility holds a very special place for us. Throughout the years, we have partnered with many charities and donated thousands of meals to soup kitchens and homeless shelters across the country, whilst also encouraging charity work within our team.

The road to becoming B Corp Certified was long and winding, with the application process taking over 18 months to complete and with the whole team pitching in to change BOL for the better. This is a huge milestone in our exciting journey towards bettering ourselves, our community and our planet.
